On the afternoon of September 20, 2025 Seattle Asian Cultural gala event, which had been planned for more than three months, finally kicked off at the Redmond Senior and Community Center in Redmond.
September in Seattle has already begun to enter autumn, and the weather changes every day, just like a baby's mood. Fortunately, the weather is good. Starting from the morning, the clouds have turned sunny, and the sun has shed the warm sunshine of autumn on the earth early.
Although the event only started at 1:30 p.m., the enthusiastic actors and volunteers arrived at the venue one after another before 12 o'clock, started intense rehearsals, prepared for the upcoming activities, and were busy moving tables, chairs, game props, prizes, etc. to the designated location.
Because the weather was fine, the booths of our sponsors and co-organizers were placed inside Red Oak and on the Terrace outside as planned.
At 1:30 PM, the host announced the start of the carnival. A cheerful Let's Celebrate dance song from Huaxing Children instantly ignited the
enthusiasm of the event.
The dance music from Huayin and the gentle breeze seem to transport us to the graceful Jiangnan water town.
It uses fresh and refined dance language to show the vitality and vitality of spring. During the dance,
Huayin team members wore light and elegant dance clothes, held fans, and danced to the beautiful melody.
The Fangma Folk Song from Qicaiguo Art Middle School seemed to take us from the water town of Jiangnan to Yunnan thousands of miles away in an instant.
Culture can always travel through time and space. The wonderful pipa from the Sunflower Children’s Dance Team brings the heritage of Chinese culture thousands of years ago
The children's group dance of the wonderful pipa comes from the flying apsaras in the Dunhuang murals.
The young actors' flowing dresses, flying ribbons soar in the sky, and the bouncing pipa in various poses brings everyone a time corridor through the millennium.
The children from BAM Dance Studio were jumping, lively and cute, and their modern dance performance was really impressive.
For those who are overseas, their longing for their mother country always comes up during the festive season.
A song "Dear China" recommended by the Kaka community expresses our thoughts.
Similar to Miaoyin Pipa, an encouraging song from Seattle Feitian, "Shui Yue Yi Ren", also seems to bring everyone to the south of the Yangtze River to appreciate the graceful
feeling of the water town
This classical dance of the Han and Tang Dynasties, tailor-made for children, will lead the audience to travel through time and space and experience
the poetic beauty of "Love in the Moonlight". The little dancers, dressed in Hanfu, dance gracefully on the drums with light and agile steps, like elves under the moonlight.
Through their graceful postures and rhythmic movements, they will show the unique charm of Han and Tang culture.
Between movement and stillness, they will outline a picture of "beauties under the moon", allowing children to appreciate the beauty of classical music and immerse
themselves in the artistic atmosphere of traditional culture while practicing dance.
After a short break for the third prize draw, a song of singing and dancing seemed to take us back to that era of war and smoke, and people's desire for peace.
We are also honored to invite the famous teacher Chen Kai in the Seattle area and his students to perform a cello quintet, Bat Overture.
Another dance from Huaxing, Rhythm of Ocean, seems to take us from the ocean of fire to the ocean of water
Next up is a special modeling gig.
Fiona young students used their actions to interpret real fashion and beauty. They did not just keep the halo for themselves, but turned their love into strength, holding the hands of special children and walking on the stage together.
At that moment, the whole place was silent, only the sound of firm footsteps echoed. For these special children, this is not only a catwalk, but also a bloom of courage and an opportunity to be seen by the world and accepted by society. Every step they take is a symbol of confidence and hope.
Another dance from Huayin, Xiang Si Yao, once again explained to us the beauty of Chinese dance.
Children from Jinting Dance School, dressed in gorgeous costumes, explained the meaning of dance.
The Spanish bullfight is a type of Latin dance that originated in France and is popular in Spain. It is a dance that imitates the movements of the Spanish matador. The male companion is like a matador, majestic, vigorous and powerful, giving people a fearless spirit of going forward. The female companion symbolizes the red cape used by the bullfighter to provoke the bull, with heroic appearance and charming dancing posture. The Spanish bullfight shows the Spaniards' desire for freedom, their admiration for the brave and their pursuit of love and a happy life.
At the end of the first half, as the highlight of this carnival, we awarded the 2025 Seattle Cultural Carnival Outstanding Contribution Award to two teachers in the Seattle area who have made outstanding contributions to cultural communication, teacher Wang Jun from Shuren Chinese and teacher Wu Xiaoming from Huayin.
The cute kids from the Sunflower Dance Class faced the warm spring breeze, held sunflower flowers in their hands, and started their spring journey with smart and cute dance moves; then the boy group brought you a classic style of the 90s, which was dynamic, fashionable, youthful and energetic;

"Life is like a dream, fireworks are fleeting, but beauty is eternal."
When black and white meet and silk fans dance, a dream about youth, time and life slowly unfolds on the stage. The classical dance solo "Like Smoke", with its unique visual language, outlines the girl's youth as light and ethereal as smoke and as gorgeous as fireworks, like a splash-ink landscape.
Solo dancer Claire Xu learned dance at the age of seven. She has participated in various dance competitions in the United States since 2023 and has achieved excellent results many times.
The cultural carnival is naturally indispensable for the quintessence of Chinese culture, Peking Opera. The Peking Opera program, Night Mooring at Maple Bridge, vividly describes an ancient story. A group of women who traveled from the Tang Dynasty to modern times admired Hanshan Temple, maple leaves, and ferries outside the city of Suzhou.
The next dance, Spring March, immediately brought everyone's mood to the beauty of spring.
Come March, the grass is blooming, the sun is warm again, and it’s a great place for an outing. The chirping of insects and laughter are intertwined, and the flowers on the streets are blooming and the road is filled with fragrance. This "Spring March" dance will use light dance steps to take us through the sea of flowers and feel the romance and vitality of spring.
After appreciating the spring music, let us walk into the landscape and customs of the Yi people in southwest China and experience the classic work performed by the guzheng - "Dance of the Yi People".
The guzheng version of "Dance of the Yi Nationality" cleverly uses techniques such as "finger shaking" and "glissando", which has the freedom of stretching like a folk song and the agile jumping of dancing. The music is sometimes tactful and affectionate, sometimes cheerful and passionate, and it places very high technical requirements on the performers.
The children of the Chinese Orchestra led the audience through the Yi village, listened to the jingling of the yueqin, and witnessed the singing and dancing around the campfire!

The students will present two songs with completely different styles by singing and dancing at the same time, using singing and dancing to show their youthful vitality and sincere emotions.

In this Latin dance rumba presented by Seattle's Feitian Arts Center, the dancers will use body language to interpret the obsession and struggle of deep love in the song. The slow and tense dance steps of rumba appropriately demonstrate the delicate flow of emotion.
The dancers will convey lingering love and inextricable thoughts in every eye contact and every shift of focus, allowing the audience to experience the sweet and painful "suspended" feeling in the intertwining of music and dance.
After enjoying the special Chinese dances and performances, Shuren recommended the violin performance, and we immediately enjoyed the exotic violin music.
Chinese culture is vast and profound, and our national quintessence is also diverse. Tai Chi, as another quintessence of Chinese culture, was also recommended by the Kaka community and came to the stage of our cultural carnival.
"Xingyun Tai Chi", the Kaka Tai Chi performance team composed of Tai Chi enthusiasts, presents a Chen-style Tai Chi performance to everyone. This set of Tai Chi movements is smooth and generous, combining strength and softness.
The performers' movements are like flowing clouds and flowing water, and their strength comes from within. It is not only practical in martial arts, but also has health-preserving functions and stage beauty. It not only shows the beauty of the balance of yin and yang in Tai Chi, but also fully embodies the unique charm and profound cultural heritage of Chen-style Tai Chi.
