On December 14, the first season of the Boundless Debate Club concluded with a competitive tournament, marking an exciting milestone for our students. Launched in September, the program was created to expand access to debate opportunities for elementary school students, a group that often has limited options to participate in structured debate. This inaugural season introduced students to Public Forum debate, an accessible and widely practiced format that emphasizes teamwork, current events, and clear, persuasive communication.

Boundless Debate Club was founded on the belief that debate should begin early. Through Public Forum debate, students learn how to research real-world topics, construct structured arguments, evaluate evidence, and engage respectfully with opposing viewpoints. Since the start of the season, students have demonstrated remarkable growth in confidence, critical thinking, and public speaking—skills that support academic success and thoughtful decision-making beyond competition.

Many students joined the club with little to no prior debate experience. By the end of the season, they were independently researching topics, writing complete cases, and cutting evidence cards with confidence. Throughout the season, students were taught core debate skills, including argument construction, evidence evaluation, rebuttal strategy, cross-examination, public speaking, flowing, and collaborative teamwork. These skills were reinforced through guided instruction, peer feedback, and consistent hands-on practice.

Students took ownership of their learning by researching, drafting, and refining their own cases while supporting one another as teammates. Tournament preparation included structured practice rounds, timed rebuttal drills, crossfire simulations, and collaborative case workshops designed to reflect real competitive conditions.

The dedication, teamwork, and enthusiasm displayed during the final tournament highlighted the success of our inaugural season and set a strong foundation for future growth of the Boundless Debate Club.
